As a staff, it has been our privilege to work with so many outstanding students this school year. We have witnessed tremendous growth academically and socially in our students and we commend all of you for your dedicated efforts to discover success at the next level. While countless celebrations and personal student spotlights have occurred within each classroom throughout the school year, we would like to take the opportunity to recognize several students for their dedication to excellence in a few specific areas of achievement.

The Presidential Excellence Award

This award is exclusive to 6th grade students and is a reflection of their tenure at Osmond. Students who qualify for this award must meet the following criteria:

  • Maintain a grade point average of 3.5 or above in grades 4-6
  • Achieve the Advanced level in Math or Reading on the state test (WyTopp) in the 4th and 5th grade

The Presidential Achievement Award

This award is also exclusive to 6th grade students. The criteria for receiving this award are varied. Teachers base their choices on a number of factors including academic improvement, effort, attitude, and class participation.

Accelerated Reader: Honors Awards

Reading is an essential life skill and integral to student success. Students set individual reading goals throughout the year and accelerated reader is used as a tool to measure those goals. Students earn points for reading books and passing accompanying comprehension tests. The requirements for each honors are as follows:

  • 4th Grade – 150 points per honors level (including 7.5 nonfiction points)
  • 5th Grade – 200 points per honors level (including 10 nonfiction points)
  • 6th Grade – 250 points per honors level (including 12.5 nonfiction points)
